Get to know the port of Cartagena

The Port of Cartagena is considered as the main commercial platform in the Caribbean, it is among the Top 100 Container Ports and the fourth largest port in Latin America in cargo volume, according to ECLAC. It ranked 60th in the One Hundred Ports 2020: the ranking of the largest container ports in the world.

It serves 34 cruise ship lines and welcomes 98 percent of passengers who arrive in Colombia by sea.

It is connected with 750 ports in 150 countries around the world and serves 25 shipping lines. Due to this, the Port of Cartagena was recognized as the best-connected port in America by UNCTAD.
Its terminals -Sociedad Portuaria Regional de Cartagena S.A. (SPRC) and Terminal de Contenedores de Cartagena (Contecar)- were the first in Latin America to be certified in biosecurity with the SafeGuard seal of Bureau Veritas.

It can currently handle up to 3.5 million TEUs per year, and it is preparing to reach 5.2 millon.

The host port of the XXIX Latin American Congress of Ports aims to become the continent's most important hub for refrigerated cargo, containers and Ro-Ro.
